A walk around an island (and fell into the water)

IMG_4469

It’s an absolutely beautiful day. So we went for a walk at nearby Langholmen. It seems like such a feat to walk around a whole island but we did!

That’s the other island where Catarina lives.IMG_4456

We walked around the periphery …IMG_4464 IMG_4462 Always tempted to go in – with Mummy shouting after me – NO!IMG_4470

There’s a wooded area IMG_4202 … where I met a Swedish dog and we chased each other around.IMG_4466And we continued walking along when I saw two large dogs … and then I freaked out! Yelping like a wounded hound and because I was close to the edge, I fell over and tumbled into the water. I was in shock. And obviously Mummy was in shock too as she did not take any photos of that incident.

The people who were with the dogs, jumped down to help me out of the water. I wasn’t totally wet but I wondered how I got into that predicament.

Anyway, soaking wet we walked back home – for a shower. Mummy’s relieved that I did not run further into the water and that it wasn’t so deep at the edge. But she’s disappointed that my well brushed hair is now all a bit curly.IMG_4208

May’s comment: I don’t know what spooked her or what those two dogs had said to her – she just freaked out! They did not even go near her but she just yelped in fear. The owners must know something as when they saw us coming they put their dogs back on the lead. I had met someone earlier today who had told me that dogs in the woods could no longer go off the lead because certain large dogs had attacked smaller dogs. Maybe they were the culprits.

It was quite funny that Darcy was dying to investigate what was in the waters during our walk but when she got in there unexpectedly, she was in shock and could not wait to get out. I was afraid that the man going down to grab her collar would frighten her more. Thankfully she wanted more so to get out of the water than she was afraid of a stranger.

  1. Oh my. Poor Darcy. Glad she’s OK and that she didn’t freak out when rescued. They do seem to sense things that we don’t see. I don’t know if it’s body language, or little growls that we don’t pick up…..

Take care and hope that’s the end of bad expereinces. Love Stockholm, it’s so beautiful Not been there for years though.

    1. I think it’s behind her already … she was skipping off for another run in the park nearby. That’s the good thing about them – they really live in the moment.
