Agility – Lesson 4

IMG_0417

Back at Stokes Poges in Gerrards Cross. Moving right along – or not!

Today we practiced “touch” – we had to touch our owner’s hands (which had the treats) and then confusingly we were given treats by the other hand. So we get it – the treat was to trick us into touching and once we understood “touch” we were rewarded.

Then we did some low hurdles and through the tunnel. I had to be reminded about the tunnel that we are suppose to go through it and voila! there’s a treat at the other end.

Finally we practiced “contact” – we went up on this slanted board and was tempted with food to walk down it and at the end with the front paws on the ground and the back paws still on the board they made a great fuss.  This is Leonard, a German Shepherd/Bearded Collie, who apparently did it very well.  Here’s Sue and his Mummy fussing over him – encouraging him to stay like that for a little while.

Is this what they call “Downward Dog”?

Well, we are making some progress and we had a beautiful sunset. to top it all off!

But there was a German Shepherd there today and it weirded me out!!!  I kept barking at it – telling him what I thought of him.  It did throw me off today. I was annoyed that Mummy brought me here – what was she thinking?  She knows I don’t like them. Woof! Woof! to you – big German Shepherd!
