Meet Alice Hawthorn: The Artist Behind Dogs Dogs Cats Dogs
Some people collect paintings. Others collect photographs.
Without really planning to, I seem to have started collecting Alice’s artwork.
Alice and I first met simply because she worked not far from where I live in Chelsea, and over the years our paths would cross from time to time. Like so many lovely friendships, it began with a conversation and a shared love of dogs.

At the time, I was looking for something rather special: a personalised notecard featuring Darcy and George. I didn’t want just another illustration. I wanted something that felt like us.
Together, Alice created a scene of me walking Darcy and George through one of our familiar Chelsea streets. I even chose my favourite dress and shoes. Looking at it felt less like a drawing and more like a memory.
I loved it so much that I couldn’t stop there.
“What if we created one for every season?”
That simple idea became my Walkies Through the Seasons collection. Spring, summer, autumn and winter each captured another chapter of our lives together, and every few months a different illustration would take pride of place as my notecard.

But that was only the beginning.
Before long, Alice’s wonderfully quirky Teenies had found a home with me too. Then came a whisky bottle featuring Darcy.

Most recently, Alice even transformed a pair of Adidas for me to wear to the Harry Styles concert, proof that her artwork can find its way onto almost anything.

What I love most is that none of these pieces is simply an illustration. They are little moments, memories and milestones that have become part of my home and my story.
Over the years, it has been a joy to watch Alice’s business flourish. What began as a local artist whose work I admired has grown into a much-loved brand, delighting pet lovers across the UK and beyond. Most recently, she was recognised by The Times as one of the UK’s best pet portrait artists, a wonderful acknowledgement of the warmth, humour and personality that shine through every piece she creates.

So who is the wonderfully talented artist behind Dogs Dogs Cats Dogs? The person whose work has captured the hearts of so many dog lovers and turned treasured memories into works of art?
