And so that was Summer

Just like that, seven weeks flew by. And we said au revoir to Little Tyke and Mini Tyke.

It has been a wonderful summer – we did so many things together.

So it is hooray for a successful and happy summer.

And as we do each year – this is our BFF photos.

Would you believe that these two fought the whole time?

Mini Tyke gets a bit rough with George at times. He nips her when he thinks she’s going for him and then she hits him back. But you could never tell from this picture.

And for our one last supper together, we went to one of our favourite restaurants, Osteria Basilico, which we had just found out that it’s dog-friendly.

So just like that, our summer is over.

The days are shorter and the nights cooler. We wear our jackets more – in this case out denim jackets. 🙂

The house feels empty and hollow. No more sounds of children’s laughter, screams and the TV.

Now it’s back to just the three of us.

May’s comments: It was just like yesterday when I was preparing for their arrival. Signing them up for a series of camps to make sure they are stimulated all summer, the excitement of going to Loose Reins (and my longest drive yet), going to the movies more than I have the first half of the year and getting Sasha excited about new book titles.

Then poof! It’s all over. Off they went – back to their lives, back to school and their friends.

It was lovely to see them grow, learn, make new friends and have new experiences. They had a fab time. The challenge is how to top that next year. LOL!

But for now, everything seems quieter, and less hectic. I still run around with never ending list of things to do. The difference being I don’t have to schedule when it is time to go pick them up from camp or stop at the end of the day and check in on how was their day. It maybe a lot easier just getting on and doing my own thing but I would happily run around madly if it meant having them around. Memories are all I have now – and of course my two pups.
