On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of each year, we do our best to observe the Two Minute Silence to remember …
and honour those who paid the price to give us freedom.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them.”
“We will remember them.”
It’s not easy for us to stay still for more than a moment.
George tried but he got tired.
May’s comment: Armistice Day on 11 November marks the end of the First World War and is a day to remember and honour those who have paid the price for our freedom.
