After our long journey, we arrived at The Toren – a boutique hotel on Keizersgracht- to a lovely welcome by the staff. They have been expecting us –
We managed to get the last room in the hotel as there’s some convention going on in Amsterdam and even though it was the smallest room ever – we were pleased and Mummy thinks it’s cool!
But Mummy couldn’t relax as she tried to figure out how we’re getting on with our journey to Germany as there’s a train strike today. Regardless, because of us, she still went out for our walks around the canal for our comfort ….
And when we arrived back – Mummy’s friend, Joanne and her two children – Lily and Jules were there waiting for us.
Mummy knew Joanne from gazillion years ago back in London and it’s been more than 15 years since they last saw each other – before both Lily and Jules were born. They have just moved to Amsterdam from Louisville, Kentucky – and now that they are closer to London maybe we’ll see them more.
They’re cool and tried their hat on me – said I look like a rapper!!!!
May’s comment: The Toren – a lovely dog friendly boutique hotel. We were able to eat in the bar with doggies. Will definitely stay here again!
Now we go in search of trains that could get us over the border to Deutschland!

I have come to look forward to this daily blog. It is so adorable, when you look at Ms Darcy’s face it actually seems like she is really talking to you. She has such wonderful expressions. How old is Ms Darcy?
What a beautiful travelogue, Amsterdam at night, the ambiance of the hotel, and photo of the family!
Great job with Shepardding the 4 footed kids around! I notice how well suited they are to red carpet surroundings.
Looking forward to meeting them in person.
Of course best will be visiting with you…
Love,
Judith
I agree with Dee, I love the blogs and it does feel as if MissDarcy is vocalising her own thoughts and feelings. Isn’t it lovely how these little creatures steal into your heart?
Thank you Wong family,, you really do cheer me up ! X
I love this blog! I look forward to it everyday and having 2 poos myself I can relate. It’s so awesome that you can travel with them. I was in London last year but had no idea that apparently it’s the poo capital lol. I would have come to the park to meet Darcy if I’d known.
Also very cool about the family moving from Louisville to Amsterdam! I am also from Louisville Kentucky.
