“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.” – Lauren DeStefano

We are so glad we live in a world where there are Octobers … though I wish I could have enjoyed all the Autumnal beauty with Mum and George.
May’s comment: Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.
Tonight the clocks fall back as the days are getting shorter. I can hear the rustling of leaves being blown about in the courtyard.
Having been in self-isolation for pre- and post-op, I ventured out for the first time on Thursday. Of course the first stop is the hairdresser’s. LOL! I was so excited I was in a taxi by 8.30am, arrived bright and cheery only to realise I was a day early for my hair appointment! LOL! Never mind, changed the appointment to later in the day.
Having stayed indoors as the season changed, I missed all the beautiful Autumn colours, but yesterday I saw this solitary tree in the middle of Soho, it’s autumnal leaves bathed in sunlight.

The weather for days had been quite grey and dull but as the sun came out briefly late afternoon yesterday, there was the arc of a rainbow.

I love this time of year. Nature reminds us that things are changing, the shorter days, the light, the vibrancy of autumnal colours. We start to think about year end celebrations and closing out the year but there are so many unanswerable questions of what will happen in the coming weeks. And sadly the virus doesn’t work to a calendar year. We may wish 2020 away but like an unwelcome guest, we won’t be rid of it any time soon.
So feeling a little melancholy and missing my dogs.
But here’s another one of those funnies to make you smile …
