Back to being city dogs

All cleaned up!

Have you noticed how when we started on our travels, that we were nicely groomed and wearing our Christmas jumpers?

Just leaving for Loose Reins on Christmas Eve.
Even on the farm, we wore our Christmas jumpers!
To be fair, the grass was really quite damp everywhere and every day as we were down in the valley. We would have been completely drenched from just going out for a pee.
Especially for George being so small, we needed our Equafleeces. Mum wished she had brought several of them as we went back in always soaked!

After leaving Loose Reins we had five more days in the country side.

Day 1: Leaving the valley for the hills, spot the city dogs on this walk up Duncliffe Wood.
Day 2: Mum thought Equafleeces might be too much – so we donned out country jackets.
By Day 3 – we were totally dogs! Mum was getting used to the idea that its only our paws that would get muddy.
Day 4: feeling confident that since it had not rained in days and we were in the hilly parts rather than then valley, we went without coats to White Sheet Down and this photo was taken just before I decided I have never rolled in cow dung!!!!
Day 5: From experience, Mum knew that if I went into the sea and rolled on the sand, I dry up and the sand just falls off. Much better than wearing Equafleeces when the sand seems to be permanently trapped. Besides, we would have been the laughing stock – there were hundreds of dogs and none wearing any coats. Not even pups!
Day of the return: back on went the jackets.

Of course we were expecting nothing less than an appointment for a clean up at Love My Human soon after we’re home …

Yeah, we know the drill.
Mum really wanted to stay because of that little guy – Archie but she had things to do!

A couple of hours later …

Mum found a mini-me! She said that’s what I looked like when I was a pup. I wasn’t looking very pleased.

May’s comment: Truth be told, they were really not bad! I guess the mud comes off – and dried up cowdung does not smell like fox poo and fall off! Darcy had snuggled up to me a lot the last few days and she didn’t smell. Maybe I am learning to be more relaxed about their state.

    1. We’ll try to go to Camber too – hope we meet up. We have poodles these days so spaniels are fine too!
