My cooling mat finally arrived yesterday! And just in time – after another hot day walk.I had a look at it first when Mummy introduced it to me. Not sure about it.
I eventually sat on it but I rather like my place on the wooden floor – it’s just as cool. I am not that hot when in the flat especially when Mummy washes my paws in cold water after we come in from our walks.
May’s comment: Not sure if it is that much cooler than the bathroom floor tiles but oh well, guess it might come in handy one day. Or maybe I am not doing it right.
Dogs are prone to overheating. They can’t sweat to regulate their body temperature. In the last weeks it has been so incredibly hot in London that taking Darcy to the parks seem so stressful for her. She doesn’t drink much water when we’re out but she still loves to run while her tongue is hanging out. So heard about cooling mats.
Found this one called the Chillr, a new generation of dog cooling mats, containing phase-change material. No leaks, no electricity required. It is suppose to absorb heat and reduces the body temperature by up to 7°C.
Will keep trying.
