Dining on Park Walk, SW10

IMG_0916

Tonight we’re having supper with Sarah at Henry Root – a restaurant just down the road from where we live.

From the very beginning we went there because they allow us four-legged pooches inside the restaurant!  We even bought them a dog bowl so I can have water. But apparently someone broke it so we’re bringing them back another one tonight.  They have outside seating as well so when there are more than one of us pooches, the manager gets nervous that we wouldn’t get along, one of us sits outside. But I usually have priority because I’m a “local!”

We also like E11even Park – an Italian restaurant just next door. We started last Summer having lunches at the tables on the sidewalk – but eventually they got to know us and realise I am a nice harmless pooch.  We were eventually allowed not just for lunch but also dinner!  Hooray!  We usually sit at the tables closest to the door for some reason, maybe not to be too presumptuous.

Further along, on the corner of Fulham Road there was once a bar called Goat in Boots but today it’s called The Goat.  They supposedly let dogs in but I think they are a bit nervous. The first time we went, the Manager had to check me out first before we got the ok to go in.

There are two other places along the street as other dining options but we can only dine there if the weather permits as we have to sit outside.  Suksan is a Thai restaurant and has two tables outside.  And Mandaloun, a Lebanese that also has tables outside.

May’s comment: Park walk is a residential street but has it’s share of restaurants down by the Fulham Road end.  But lots more just along Fulham or down the other end by King’s Road.

– Henry Root at 9 Park Walk is a favourite not only because it serves a good Sunday Roast and has an interesting and not a usual menu but mainly because they know Darcy and we’re always welcomed.  Particularly on a nice day, after a walk, Darcy and I like sitting at one of the outside tables, have a glass of rose and some charcuterie.

– E11even Park is a fabulously good Italian. Our friend Franco accepted us into the restaurant when Darcy proved that she was not a menacing dog!  I think it’s because he is allergic to them. It’s a proper white table cloth restaurant.  We often stop for their lunch special menu or on occasions enjoy dinner inside or outside.

– Suksan at 7 Park Walk is one of the best Thai restaurants. So  on a nice day and for a change of cuisine, I would go there with Darcy and we sit outside at one of the two tables.

– The Goat is relatively new. It’s a good hang out place, noisy and young. So not exactly conducive to have dogs in there any way.  When we went there , they were just opened so maybe they had a few teething problems.  We were given a table on the raised platform at the front – which is good in one sense but Darcy has a tendency to bark when she sees other dogs walking past.  So I am constantly watching out for dogs coming down the road and telling Darcy to be “quiet”!

– Mandaloun has been around for a long time. Not our favourite place. Not the same as it used to be.
