After watching Episode 3 of The Wonder of Dogs, we caught up on Episode 1 and 2 through BBC iPlayer.
So cockapoos got a mention on Episode 3, along with labradoodles as being recently popular cross breeds. So when asked the question why, the comment was – we look like “dogs designed by Walt Disney.” Well, I suppose that’s not such a bad thing – we must be pretty cute then.
I learnt a little more about my ancestry –
My poodle side is supposedly a strong swimmer, hunting ability and killer instincts! And also known for it’s distinctive style. Apparently poodles had always had big manes even way back when. Well, you know my hunting side! Me and squirrels in the park! 🙂 Never got one – yet!
Then they said that the white breast is typical of a Springer Spaniel!!!! Whoa! Could it be? Unless we do a DNA test, I remain part Cocker. The Cocker Spaniel is the second most popular breed in the U.K.
Conclusion: We’re robust because we’re cross breeds, fashionable, good personalities with poodle smarts and “proud to be seen with in public.”
