Some invitations are too special to turn down, and when Ettinger asked us to join them at The Peninsula London Boutique & Cafe for the launch of their very first dog accessories, we knew it was going to be a memorable day.
Ettinger has long been a name we associate with timeless British craftsmanship — leather goods that last a lifetime and age beautifully with their owners — so the idea of them turning their attention to our four-legged friends instantly had our tails wagging.
The launch, held in partnership with the Wild at Heart Foundation, introduced us to a charming new collection: a treat holder and a poop bag holder, both crafted in Ettinger’s signature Capra goat leather. With its fine grain and remarkable durability, the Capra leather lends these practical pieces the same refinement as Ettinger’s wallets and accessories.
Offered in Ettinger’s classic colours — rich tan, forest green, timeless black — they are discreet, elegant, and designed to elevate even the simplest daily rituals. The treat holder was an immediate hit with George, who caught on quickly to its purpose, while the poop bag holder proved that even the least glamorous of essentials can be carried in style. And I can honestly say, after having tried and tested many a poop bag holder, this one is truly the best one, simply because the poo bags do not get stuck when trying to pull them out. And so stylish.
After admiring the collection, the whole group set off together for a walk in Hyde Park. It was a lovely way to test out the new accessories in the wild — George strutted with his usual sense of importance, Lulu bounced along happily, and the Ettinger pieces felt like they had always belonged at our side.
Only as we left The Peninsula was the final surprise of the day revealed. Tucked inside our goody bags were the most thoughtful gifts: Capra Pet Pill Cases, each embossed with our dogs’ names. Inside was a neat seven-day organiser, but it was the personalisation that made them truly special. A practical accessory, yes, but also a keepsake — a little piece of Ettinger’s heritage made just for George and Lulu.
