We’re ready! We have home-made face masks from Frankfurt – made by Beate!
As we see signs of the easing of lockdown we have been told to be on the alert – wear face masks when taking public transportation, social distancing and keep washing your hands!!!
In the last two weeks, when we go out for our night walkies, we have started to see some form of life – there are lights from restaurants and food shops that are serving take-out orders.
Hache blasted music one evening – the streets are still quiet as night life is still in lockdown. Normally that would have been frowned upon but somehow that night, it sounded like a blast from the past – one of happier, carefree days.
Mandaloun is one of the restaurants that has in the past week opened up for take-aways.
Colette has remained opened the whole lockdown – providing a little comfort of prepared food when cooking became a chore.
These window lights brought a little warmth into our strangely quiet nights. There’s a bit more traffic these days, compared to the stark contrast on the 22 March …
Remembering those days when we were starting to see signs of things to come …

That seems such a long time ago. Signs of ‘normality’ has returned but in a different way …
The little pleasures in life required waiting time. We’ve only managed to get inside was at 9pm – on our night walk.
There’s a constant queue at the postoffice! It was strung out down the block!
And children in nurseries, Year 1 and 6 have been allowed back to school. This is how they have to queue outside …
We love the little cones set two metres apart.
People are wearing face masks – mostly when inside shops. This is the trend these days!
And when inside shops, there are markers everywhere to tell us to stand apart.
Some more creative than others …
The lockdown has made us appreciate the ordinary every day things we take for granted.
And since last week, we have been allowed to go back to doggy day care!
We’re back at Man’s Best Friend Kensington and Chelsea!!!
And guess what? The squirrels are still are still in the parks! They haven’t done lockdown, we don’t think!

We are easing out of lockdown … slowly. There are signs of life in the darkened shops after almost three months. The traffic is back – but not fully. You have to be careful when stepping off the pavement – we have become used to just walking on the road – to avoid other pedestrians. There are planes flying into London. And the sound of children in the nursery playground.
But people wear masks and sometimes gloves and constant queues outside shops. Have people have become more patient?

I’m so glad London is opening cautiously, here in the states people are so impatient, things are opening too fast. I’m concerned about a resurgence!
