Yeah, its that day of the week …

To be fair, both George and I had ham hocks when we were having a day with Aunt Laura – she spoils us with the best treats ever. But we went home with greasy beards. So come Friday and Mum wants weekend snuggles, she gave us both a wash.

One of the best series during Lockdown – Normal People based on Sally Rooney’s novel. Binged watch it on BBC iPlayer and then watched the whole series again on BBC One.

Besides being shot beautifully in dreamy Ireland (dying to return), the relatability comes in the story’s portrayal of the inability to communicate at critical moments, hiding behind a facade and Marianne’s constant obsession with the ‘other women’ was me ‘snatching defeat at the jaws of victory.’ LOL! Oh, how agonising to remember those youthful insecurities. Just wanted to shout at them – speak what’s on your mind!!! Stop playing games.

Back to Darcy’s fringe – while pet grooming are now ‘self-distancing’ open, it’s another month before hair salons will. The roots are starting to show even though I’ve managed to hide it in my current hairstyle except on a windy day like today. A friend walking behind me said, “we see everyone’s true hair colour in this lockdown.” Wasn’t sure why she said that. Later in the day when I was queuing outside the post office and the wind was blowing everyone’s hair out of place – I realised what she meant. As hair was flying, I could see the gray roots of the older ladies standing ahead of me! LOL!
