Going green!

Sásta Lá Fhéile Pádraig … yeah, I manage a bit of Gaelic.

The Gang of Four is now the Sensational Six!

Barnaby, Freddie, Darcy, Leprechaun George, Maisie, Mac – wearing out Shamrock bandanas and George being weighed down by his leprechaun hat!

The six of us stopped over at Matcha and Beyond to commemorate the traditional date of Saint Patrick’s passing. He was the foremost patron saint of Ireland. But most people rather celebrate the day the Irish way …

Me after a few Guinesses!

So what’s with the Shamrock?

The Shamrock is a young sprig of a three-leaved clover and has been the symbol for Ireland since the 18th century. It seems that St. Patrick used the three-leaved clover when converting the Irish to Christianity – not sure how, but the three leaves are suppose to represent the Trinity.

And George was the Leprechaun.

Leprechauns are mischievous bearded little creatures – just like George! So that’s why we dressed him up as one. These Leprechauns like playing jokes on hoomans but if they are caught, the leprechaun will grant three wishes in exchange for their freedom.

Catch George and he will give you licks, do his “please” trick and cast a spell on you! 🙂

May’s comment: Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  1. I’m sure George could sort out all the “problems” with one big magical lick. ???
