It’s been raining since we arrived last evening – so out came the Equafleeces!
This was our morning walk at 8.30am – still dark and still raining! 
Finally at 1pm, the rain had let up and we ventured out for some photo ops! The must do – the Hanseatic buildings lining the Vågen harbour …

I forgot to mention that we met up with our friends from London – Ellen and Kai for our cruise.
We had a walk about town – in search of the Christmas market
Pretty but not much we can buy – there’s no space in our luggage.
The day passed by quickly and by the time we headed back to the hotel – the light was already going. We hurried back and soon we were on the bus that picked us up for our cruise. Goodbye Bergen!
Now we can tell everybody back home that England is not the rainiest place in the world!!!!
May’s comment: Our cruise begins from Bergen this evening. We had the day to walk around the town. Learnt very quickly that it often rains in Bergen – it has a microclimate – and today it was at 8 degrees, no snow.
One of the photos to take are Bryggen, the Hanseatic buildings lining the eastern side of the Vågen harbour. Since 1979, Bryggen has been on the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage sites.
Along the lines of “gemutlich” restaurants, I had to try Bryggeloftet & Stuene – a very traditional Norwegian restaurant just around the corner from our hotel.
Excellent choice and by now I have already given up finding restaurants in Norway that would allow dogs. And they both stayed in the hotel room – they now know the drill – I am not leaving them, I will be back and they just have to wait.

So you are taking Miss Darcy and George on the cruise with you? What a wonderful idea. Please keep us updated how it works out for the three of you. I have never tried a cruise before but a cruise that we allowed us to take our 2 (Jandaz) cockapoos on board too sounds appealing!

Bergen looks like a very interesting city. Too bad they weren’t very dog friendly! Have fun on your cruise. Do Darcy and George get to stay with you in your room this time?

Finney was born May 2009 and Molly October 2013, so they are 8.5 years and 4+ years respectively.
I love following Mae and the doggies. Learned a lot about travelling and eating out with them but what’s a Jandaz cockapoo?
We loved Bergen! We arrived there on the 20/12/17 ?
We were there on the 20 Dec!!! We sailed at 22.30 that evening!!! ?
Wish we’d seen you! Missed our fur baby cuddles and would have loved to say hello ?
