Today is the 15th day of the Lunar New Year, known as the Lantern Festival.
“May your life be as bright as the lanterns.”
This festival marks the grand finale of the New Year celebrations, symbolising light, hope, and joy for the year ahead. Also known as the Lantern Festival, it marks the end of the celebrations and symbolises the light and joy of the new year.
In some countries it is also known as the Chap Goh Meh, often referred to as Chinese Valentine’s Day. It symbolises new beginning, hope and love, with the age-old tradition of single women tossing mandarin oranges into rivers to represent aspirations for true love and prosperity.
I thought about those oranges in the Thames – think I might get arrests. After all it’s just a myth. LOL!
And now … we are ready for the next red themed celebration in February.
