There’s a very bright light in the sky tonight. It is called a super moon because it is not only a new moon but also because the Moon is the closest to the Earth on its elliptical orbit. That’s why it looks so large!
This is the moon over Ko Samui that Little Tyke is looking at. And below is the moon shining brightly in the London skies.
We may be oceans and continents apart and though we’re looking at it at different times, it’s the very same moon we’re looking at.
I sent kisses to the moon so when Little Tyke looks up at the sky, the kisses will bounce right back to him – I hope! Or someone else will be getting lots of doggy kisses.
May’s comment: Though there are footsteps of man on the moon, it doesn’t make it any less mysterious or romantic. And even though there’s a moon in the sky since the beginning of time, whenever we see one, we still marvel at it. The sight of it is both beautiful and awesome.
Tonight’s super moon is also known as a “Harvest Moon” because of its status as the full moon closest to the Northern Hemisphere’s autumnal equinox on September 22nd.
