Have a Bloomin’ Beautiful Day!

A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.

Well, George and I do compete for Mum’s attention sometimes and we definitely do compete who runs fastest in the park. Otherwise, I think we do what we do best because “your life is your own unique journey — it is unlike a journey any other person, before you or after you, will ever take.” (Shon Mehta)

We have watched the various flowers blooming throughout Spring. Each one as beautiful as the next.

Just to say, we should focus on ourselves being the best we can be and not compete with those around us. We all have our own unique qualities and different strengths.

May your days be filled with bloomin’ promises and beautiful moments because you are pretty fabulous!

May’s comment: Whenever I see the the flowers blooming it always reminds me of that quote – A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.

The cherry blossom hasn’t been put off by the chilly start this spring, the blackthorn winter didn’t sway them away from their usual routine. Without concern for what other plants were doing, they shone brightly and showed us what they do best. They simply blossomed! Next door to the cherry trees live the fuchsias who certainly aren’t sticking to the project plan, they’re not budging until the jet stream changes direction. 

There’s no sign from those hibernating underground either, the alarm clock hasn’t gone off yet, but one day soon they’ll know it’s time for their big moment. Like the rest of the plant world they won’t  waste energy trying to compete with their neighbours, they’ll just focus on what they need to achieve. 

A quick walk around any garden shows us how truly diverse the plant kingdom is and how, without the insecurities us humans are plagued with, they simply go for it. The cherry blossom’s not concerned what the tulips are up to, much as the dahlias and the lilies are nonplused about what’s going on above ground. Soon they will all be standing tall and blooming brightly and much like the players in an orchestra adding their contribution to the music. How wonderful their world must be, where every plant does its upmost to be their best, irrespective of what anyone thinks. As a result they work together to create the most amazing display of individuality within a world of oneness. 

The plant world doesn’t need therapists or fashion influencers, they’ve kept it simple and know that being what they are is enough. They don’t have to seek validation, they know exactly how to act at any given moment. Whether the soil is too sandy or too boggy they’ll put on a smile and work with what they’ve got, simply focusing on bringing themselves into life.

How truly wonderful our world would be if we took more advice from our plants and simply focus on striving to create our best blooms without having to compete with anyone.
