“When someone you love walks through the door, even if it happens five times a day, you should go totally insane with joy.”
May’s comment: Chhaya shared this with me … the last video of Denali.
Denali and his owner Ben were inseparable. He had been a big part of Ben Moon’s photography.
Denali stood by Ben throughout his cancer treatment in 2004.
In early 2014, Denali himself endured cancer. Ben promised to never let him suffer.
After production began for the “Denali” film a week later — (the video above) — Ben asked Denali if he could stick around for another month. Exactly one month later, at midnight, Denali developed a bad cough. The next day they went to play on the beach. The following morning Denali gave Ben the look — it was time to go.
Denali passed away at age 14 1/2 years old.
Another incredible journey that comes with owning a dog. http://denali.littlethings.com/denali-dog-love-story/?utm_source=LTas&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_campaign=animals
It touched me deeply as a dog owner how much we receive from them. Their lives are simple – food, love, food, loyalty, food, commitment. Their communication are straight forward – the deploring eyes seeking acknowledgement, the movement of their brows when they are uncertain, the wagging tail of pure simple joy and curling up in a ball right next to you – for the comfort of knowing you are near. Such simple things that means so much.
