Humph! So now I know Sam, the German Shepherd doesn’t bite. He doesn’t seem too bothered with me either. He’s also used to being barked at because he’s a scary big dog.
We ended up on the same sofa last night … I stayed at my end but then Sam stretched out and inched closer.
I was ok. But then he was told to get off the sofa! Not because of me. Just that he’s not allowed on the sofa apparently.
Maybe I should just accept him for what he is – just a big dog. Not mean, not horrid, just big with a scary big mouth. He could have swallowed up the pug he was playing with but he was as gentle as can be.
Maybe I need to reassess my prejudices against German Shepherds.
May’s comment: So loving that she has calmed down and having this opportunity to reinforce in her that not all German Shepherds are vicious. Maybe she will now give them a chance and not tell them off with such indignant every time she sees one. But I should also not overlook her fears.
