We were at Somerset House yesterday where quite a few of London Fashion Week events were being held.
There were lots of photographers waiting at the end of this entrance – waiting for the well-dressed, well-heeled (literally) guests to arrive for the photo op.
We forgot to wear our coats and didn’t look too “well-heeled”. We were on all fours, no heels, so we didn’t count – though a photographer took my photo when I posed by the LFW signage – and her colleague said – “can you send that to me?” 🙂
But what we came for was the Swatch Pooch Parlour.
Swatch Watch was launching a new line of watches called My Pet and Me. ![]()
We also had our photos taken with one of their dog portraits so we could enter the competition to win one of the watches.
This was a good one except we didn’t like the Sainsbury bag …
So we took another
And Georgie who hasn’t learnt to pose, was a little distracted by the pet portrait!
After that, we went in for quick brush up by Alice the personal dog groomer
And treats to follow
And George was his charming self – giving air kisses to everyone who paid him attention
Yes, George, you can stand still for a moment to pose, please.
On our way out of Somerset House Mummy wanted to go to The Courtauld Gallery shop and asked if could all go in. The guy working at the counter said – no dogs allowed. But a co-worker who was just outside watching, quickly came and told him that they do allow dogs in.
Mummy felt triumphant and held back from saying anything to that person who did not know his stuff!
So we went on a shopping spree. Not sure if Mummy just wanted the guy at the counter to know she was a serious shopper and that letting us in was not a mistake!
… or was that just an excuse to buy three dog-related books? LOL!
And one about cats for Aunty Beate and her meow-meows.
We’re running out of book shelf space, Mummy dearest!
May’s comment: No we didn’t go to any of the shows – though it seems dog presence is the next big thing. Some of the stylists were writing their dog blogs as well. We’ll have to put London Fashion Week on our calendar for next year! 🙂
