It’s not always the flashiest places that stay with you. Sometimes it’s the ones that quietly get everything right.
I discovered Cafe Jumo almost by accident while working on an interior project just up the road. You know the kind of find – not hyped, not shouting for attention, just… there. And very glad it is too.

From the moment I walked in with George and Lulu, it was obvious this was a place with heart. We were greeted with genuine warmth and proper fuss over the dogs, the kind that isn’t performative, just instinctive. You can tell immediately that dogs aren’t an afterthought here. It’s in the small details: the ease, the welcome, the little traces that say we’ve thought about this. As a dog owner, that kind of consideration never goes unnoticed.

The space itself is refreshingly simple. No over-styling, no trying too hard. Just cosy, calm, and inviting – the sort of café you instantly relax into. It feels lived-in in the best possible way, like a neighbourhood spot that belongs exactly where it is.

The menu leans towards brunch (which is always a good thing in my book), done really well and without unnecessary complications. And then there are the cakes – excellent, tempting, and absolutely worth saving room for. The kind you keep thinking about later in the day.

Jumo Café is a reminder that you don’t need gimmicks to be memorable. Thoughtfulness, warmth, good food, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere go a very long way. Especially when your dogs are treated like honoured guests.

Sometimes the best places aren’t the loudest. They’re just the ones you’re quietly very happy to have found. If you are looking for a truly dog-friendly place – check this one out. You will love just being there.
