Maddie came to stay with us … but Mummy was given very strict instructions for Maddie’s very strict diet! Limited food intake and no treats!
But Maddie, she did not stop trying
And when Mummy stuck to her guns and said, no, Maddie went to sit by herself and sulked.
And when that didn’t work, she came back into the room where we were all sitting and she gave Mummy that look.
“Are you really going to starve me?”
“No,” said Mummy. “There’s a time for everything.”
“You see there’s supper time … and we all eat together.”
So when supper time came along, we all went to the kitchen in anticipation of being served. Sometimes I get excited but all I do is nudge Mummy. Charlie sometimes whines with excitement but nothing like Maddie! She’s usually quiet as a mouse but when it came to feeding time, her true self came forth …
She was the most vocal of all of us!
Chomp, chomp, chomp.
Oh, by the way, just because she was not allowed treats, Mummy said it was not fair if we had any at all. And we all had none. 🙁
Meanie Mummy! Thank goodness she only stayed one night!
May’s comment: Maddie is a Cavalier King Charles and a neighbour. Georgie goes to play with her ever so often. They are part of the “small dog” association in the neighbourhood! LOL!
Maddie is incredibly easy to have stay over – all she needs is food and she loves company. She doesn’t like walking too much and she’s quiet as a mouse – most of the time unless there’s food. But be very, very careful – do not be deceived. Even though she is not the most athletic of creatures, she is very smart when it comes to food. She capable of jumping over any obstacles to get to them. And when she does she will devour the entire findings! She once ate an entire box of treats that was a Christmas present for Darcy and George! LOL!
