This is Jeb and he is a …. Pu-ddle! No, not a puddle of water. He is a cross between a Puli and a Poodle!
Jebediah came to Penny via Hungary Hearts Dog Rescue – the same charity that brought us George.
This was how he looked when they found him on the streets. They just assumed he’s a Hungarian Puli. But his mummy decided to have his DNA tested. And the result –
he’s a cross between a Hungarian Puli and a Poodle!
So he’s a Pu-ddle or is he a Puli-poo or a Pu-Poo! Whatever we call him, he’s officially a Doodle! Yay! (But NOT George!)
So now Mummy’s going to try this test for George. The last one we tried wasn’t “successful” as they thought he’s pure-bred Yorkshire Terrier until they saw his photo. Oops! LOL!
May’s comment: Penny told me about this DNA test and Jeb’s results came out more credible than the last one I used. Jeb does look like he has poodle in him but I guess we never even thought of it. We just assumed he’s a Hungarian Puli.
So I thought – shall we try it again and unlock the mystery of George? We have already received the kit from Viaguard Accumetrics Canine Testing, swabbed George and sent back – eagerly awaiting results.
The difference this time when I swabbed the inside of George’s cheek, he let me. The last time was a struggle. Hmm, maybe that might be a reason why they did not determine his breed. The results said he’s pure bred Yorkshre terrier. Maybe I only managed to swab that breed of him! LOL!
It really doesn’t matter what breed George is. He’s wonderful, charming, cheeky, cute as a button and a big flirt. He’s all that and everything else – truly a Heinz 57! Just curious to know and if science can tell me that – amazing! So far, I think he has Yorkshire Terrier and Shih-Tzu.

That is interesting. Jeb is gorgeous. George always reminds me of my Peanut, she is a cockapoo, and has a totally different personality to my other cockapoo Gracie who is a lot like Darcy. I saw both their parents. It will bet interesting to know what George’s results are.
The word Poodle comes from the German pudel – which means “splash”. So in a way they are ALL “PUDEL-HOUNDS”, given half the chance!
