Today is St. George’s Day! And Mummy got him his very own St. George flag tag.
His namesake is George Clooney and Georgie is living up to it.
They both have the salt and pepper hair, the lovely brown eyes, very charming with a cheeky personality. And Georgie is one to be reckoned with – like Mr. Clooney too.
We weren’t so sure of the association to begin with. LOL! 
He has bad hair days
Sometimes he is scary looking!
With shades, he looks more like a bug than cool dude – and that lip-licking is unbecoming.
And he’s lacking in manners.
Seriously large fangs!
And sometimes he wears not so cool outfits.
Like the original Saint George who is identified with English ideals of honour, bravery and gallantry – little Georgie has similar qualities.
When he has a situation he could not figure out, he would try and try again – like he did with Bacchus the cat when we were in Provence.
When I got swiped by Bacchus and ran away with fright, Georgie ran to my side to protect me.
But with all that bravado, he can be frightened by many things – loud noises and hissing cats for example. That’s when I “protect” him but really, I am the “scaredy cat”! 🙂
But he’s our little George. And we think he’s handsome. 
OK, not with that crooked smile!
May’s comment: The most intriguing aspect of George are his eyes. They seem to say that he’s seen it all.
He may be dinky small but he is by no means unwise. He seeks attention and he loves to be held. But he guards his space and his resources with great tenacity. He doesn’t give up – when something doesn’t sit right with him, he tries and tries again – unlike Darcy who runs to hide by my feet. 🙂
George is one to be reckoned with. He is full of character and yet so small and so frightened of simple things at times.
Heart bursting with love for this little one. So glad he’s in our lives. He has taught me I am capable of loving more than one! 
P.s. St. George’s Day falls on 23 April. It is England’s national day. St. George is the patron saint of England (and quite a few other countries). His emblem, a red cross on a white background, is the flag of England, and part of the British flag. Thought George needed his own flag! Got this deep engraved dog tag from Collars and Tags

Hi Darcy, Georgie and May! I love your blog and seeing all your adventures. Regarding George’s mystery genes, I just came across a picture of ‘peekapoos’- Pekingese/Poodle cross breed established for around 60 years- and thought they looked just like Georgie, especially the one on the left: http://www.mypeekapoos.com/eo.jpg. The home site has lots of Peekapoo dogs that share George’s smile! Though he is a little longer in the snout than most Pekingese.
Hi Geraldine! OMG!!! You’re right! No one has ever mentioned that before!!! Schnauzer, Yorkie, Poodle, Shih Tzu, Apfenpincher – now Pekingese. There was one other which was a bit of an exaggeration.
