S!N!C!F! S!N!C!F! (sung as in Y!M!C!A!)

Oui! Oui! Nous voyageons sur la Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français à Nice.

After crossing the Eurotunnel using Folkestone taxi, we drove to Gare de Calais Ville.

We had two hours to kill – so Mummy decided we must have a cafe au lait and a croissant

Thr train journey from Calais to Paris Gare du Nord was only about two hours.

We had to take a taxi to Gare de Lyon.  I had a good look at the Paris streets.

Out taxi driver was very chatty. He kept saying what a pretty dog I am but I thinkhe rather liked Mummy – LOL! He kept giving Mummy goodbye kisses when we got to Gare de Lyon. 🙂

And then the long journey from Paris to Calais began.  Mummy shared her ham and cheese baguette with me.

I got a little nervous when Mummy went to ththe WC. I watched where she was going and made sure she was coming back.

There were two other dogs on the same cabin  – this is Oscar, a 14 year old poodle!!!  He was very friendly and wanted to play but I wasn’t into socialising.  The other dog was a German Shepherd – scared the wits out of me!

The sun was soon setting – the last lights of the day.

IMG_1708And I was tired with all that travelling.  I fell asleep, snoring loudly.

IMG_1714Then after a long delay, we finally arrived in Nice Ville at 23.30. The train went on a slow track after Toulon – and crept it’s way into Cannes – after a 20minute stop somewhere I’ve never heard of. Then it continued to crawl.

Enfin! Nous en sommes arrivés

May’s comment: Darcy was amazing during her travel.  It was a long journey but she was calm and watchful.
