Bryher is the smallest of the inhabited islands of the Isles of Scilly. \
Just one and half miles long by half a mile wide its coast line is remarkably varied.
The porter from Hell Bay Hotel – the only hotel on the island came to pick us up from the quay – there are two – one for low tide and one for high tide. The van drove along narrow tracks till we reached the hotel.
We met the pooches in resident – the very affectionate Pepper, Labrador retriever
And shy Jasper, a Springer Spaniel.
We were shown to our room – as we checked out all the smells.
We can tell there are lots of dogs who have been here.
We have our own beds, blankets, towel and two bowls.
I decided not to go pink for once.
We hung up our back packs – can you tell we are feeling at home already?
A little pantry with all sorts of goodies –
Mum made herself a cup of tea and we sat outside in the sunshine.
While George wandered checking out the grounds – so typical of him, while I sat with Mum.
We went out to check out the grounds and met Brambles, a seven-month old Australian labradoodle.
He was very puppyish and George told him off. Poor Brambles – he didn’t know what to think of George.
I’m sure we’ll run into Brambles again, so off we went –
Oh wow! Look at that view.
And flowers and foliage we don’t normally see in London.
We found the sunset deck …
I think we were a bit early.
We waited.
And was rewarded with a beautiful sunset.
Panorama of our view.
Time for din-dins at the Bar – where all the doggies went for dinner with their hoomans.
May’s comment: I only learnt about Hell Bay Hotel on Bryher Island from Marvin who had visited just last month. I know his high standards and good taste and took his recommendation. And we’re not disappointed.

Hell Bay Hotel‘s secluded and dramatically beautiful setting is a fab place for a getaway holiday. Friendly staff and dogs are allowed to wander the grounds.
But remember to pick up after your dog.
A letter for our Canine Friends –
Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant – but they will serve the restaurant menu for dog owners. The food was excellent.
