We were on a mission to find a dog friendly restaurant at Borough Market.
The last time we were there in search of Paddington Bears, we saw signs that said –
Guide Dogs only!
So we were a little cautious, tip-toeing our way on the outskirts of the market.
when we ran into this little guy –
Teasel, a five month old labradoodle pulling his way out of the market!
We stopped to ask Teasel’s owner if they were inside and they were!!! We pointed to the sign that said “Guide Dogs Only” – Oops! They had not seen the signs and no one told them not to either. Actually, we saw quite a few dogs coming and going. So it seems we can go through the market – just don’t take them inside the stalls especially the more dog-sensitive ones like the ones that sell cheese.
Anyway, we went to lunch at Wright Brothers – where we were told they are dog friendly.
And we had lunch there.
We found a few other dog friendly places –
This looks very delicious
Oh yum!
And we can go to have a gelato nearby
And Kit Ace further along the road, offered “sparkling or still” water for us doggies!!!!
Well, we fulfilled our goal to find some dog friendly places further away from where we usually go to.
And Borough Market wasn’t all that difficult to get to either!
May’s comment: More on Wright Brothers restaurant tomorrow!

Hi May
Bermondsey Street nearby is very dog friendly. Almost every restaurant, cafe and bar allows dogs in. Please do come and try it. I head up there a lot with my dog.

We’ll have to venture out there soon!
Hi May,
Great article, love your blog!
Definitely head to Bermondsey St we’re locals and regularly take our Cookie to restaurants there. No one turns their noses up at our furbabiy! Pop into Holly and Lil for an up to date street map of dog friendly places.

I have a golden rule no dogs no owners
In turn no custom there are a enormous amount of dog owners in London
That spends a small fortune in shops and markets
The best thing really for all concerned its simply to allow open access to dogs
Then everybody is happy
Thankyou from myself and my ultimate companion my dog
. Kind regards to all
