Last Saturday, non-essential shops were opened
As we were walking along King’s Road, we saw lots of these social distancing reminders …
George getting told off! This fiery red one didn’t say ‘please’ !!!
This one said ‘thank you’ – that’s more like it.
As things are easing up, one of our favourite parks had also reopened.
Mum loves bringing us here because it is just a wide open space that is fenced in which means George gets to run – with only the danger that he might decide to run through the fence and into the Royal Hospital grounds.
And last Tuesday was the first time we have met up with our friends – Freddie, Mac and Maisy for our first walk together since – forever! Must have been January or even December last year because we were away all of February.
It was like old times and in the treat department, nothing has changed …
As for Mum, there was great progress – she was busy getting herself all cleaned up! LOL! Dentals appointments and finally hair salons opening …
May’s comment: What a relief! Had a hygienist dental appointment – which is only hand scraping. On making the appointment, we were questioned about any symptoms, and on arrival we were asked to sanitise our hands, went through questions again about our current state of health and given face marks to wear while in the waiting area.
The most welcomed news for A LOT of people was the re-opening of hair salons! They opened last Saturday and I managed to get in for the second appointment that morning at 9am – for colouring and then fitted in another appointment on Thursday for a haircut. To accommodate their clients, their opening hours are 8am – 8pm 7 days a week.
I have never been so happy to get up early on a Saturday morning. As they have decided to disallow dogs for the time being I had to get up earlier to walk them before I had my pampering. Fair enough since everyone’s so unsure of how things will be, it was unnecessary added pressure. The time will come when things become progressively ‘normal.’
But for now, things are a little different. All clients were met outside and had their temperature taken, handed a gown …
and what I thought was a ‘goodie bag’! They must have been so happy to see us back, I thought. 🙂
In it was my PPE! A mask and gloves! LOL!
All clients had to wait outside till the person they were going to see came to collect them and entered in a one way system.
I returned on Thursday for a long overdue haircut – again with surgical masks, gloves and Fiona wearing a visor! The new NORM!

I’m so happy for all of you! Seeing and interacting with friends is so important for our wellbeing!
Some day I hope I get to come back to London and meet all of you!
