Pints, Paws & Portraits

The Cadogan Arms has been part of Chelsea life since the nineteenth century, but these days, it’s less an old-fashioned local and more a dazzling example of what a modern London pub can be. After a head-to-toe transformation in 2021, it now strikes the perfect balance—grand chandeliers and wood panelling give it a touch of heritage glamour, while the atmosphere is warm, buzzy, and unmistakably Chelsea.

The bar is a destination in itself, with craft beers, cask ales and cocktails that feel far too polished to be called “pub drinks.”

In the dining room, familiar favourites are given a thoughtful, seasonal lift: golden, crisp fish and chips, roasts that command Sunday attention, and pies that are almost too pretty to cut into (almost). It’s the kind of food that makes you want to linger over a glass of something good.

And linger you should—because the Cadogan Arms isn’t just about its menu or its awards (though yes, it’s scooped a CAMRA design prize and a place on the Top 50 Gastropubs list). It’s about that intangible Chelsea magic: part tradition, part trend, and all charm.

This autumn, it will also be one of the most stylish pit stops on Chelsea Dog Day, 4th October. Pop in for a spot of lunch between events and let your pup join the fun – @doggy.doodles_ will be on hand sketching portraits, while @LoveMyHuman will be spoiling four-legged guests with treats.

A pub that caters to paws as well as palates? Now that’s very Chelsea.

Located at 298 King’s Road, Chelsea SW3 5UG

And from ghosts of yesteryear, this was Darcy when Cadogan Arms first opened in 2021.
