Simply September

“And suddenly, you know it’s time to start something new and trust the magic of new beginnings”.

After a cool and wet August, September started in a fiery blaze recorded some of the hottest days of the year.

That resulted in cancelling Chelsea Dog Day – which was a huge disappointment. Even though Mum said it was for the best, she was sad that it didn’t come to fruition after all the work that had gone into it. Never mind. Hopefully we can do it again next year.

It’s been a month of everyone getting to meet Lulu. She sure had lots of cuddles from lots of aunties and Mum’s godsons …

We’ve had more portraits done to add to the gallery wall and were at the filming for a product – more on that later.

I did have my own special day as we celebrated my 9th Gotcha Day – Mum took us to the newly opened Peninsula Hotel.

We ate Mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Actually, I posed with the mooncakes but Lulu licked them!

And re-visited Chojo in Notting Hill, a small neighbourhood Asian tapas restaurant for dumplings & noodles. It has been awhile since we were last there. January 2019 to be exact. They asked where was Darcy – they were sad to hear of her passing and was delighted to meet Lulu.

September was a month of contrary. It was a month full of hellos and there were goodbyes too.

We had friends who visited from Essex, Dusseldorf and Canada.

We said goodbye to Lucca who left us to join Darcy over the bridge in early September. He was 11 and had been diagnosed with cancer.

We were also sad to see our neighbours, Charley and Annie move away to start a new chapter of their lives. We’ve known each other for five plus years and so much had happened. The times I had spent with Charley when Mum was busy, there was Covid lockdown – we were a bubble. They were there when Darcy left us. Then Annie joined the family, and now they are about to have a baby sibling. I am sure we will see them again but till then, we miss them.

And so that was September!

The world shall now transform to pumpkins everything!

May’s comment: We seem to say it every month – how quickly it has flown by. It has been a quieter month than the others past but still it went like a flash.

And from now, the sun sets earlier, that winter smell in the air; the cool breeze that means summer’s gone. We welcome sweater weather and lots of pumpkins
