Sunday @ CRUFTS

When we entered NEC today we went into Hall 5 and saw LOTS and LOTS of BIG dogs! I kept trying to avoid them but they were everywhere – we  realised after a while that it was the Hall of Labradors and Golden Retrievers.

Here they are sitting in their cubicles waiting to perform or something.  While others looked completely bored waiting for their turn to perform or something.

Mummy loved watching all the different dogs do their thing – but we didn’t go to the Arena as I wasn’t allowed in there.  Next time Mummy will have to find a dog-sitter. But until then we did a lot today.  Here we are looking on as the labs and retrievers were strutting their stuff.

We saw a few interesting hounds … this whippet is called Ice. We thought for sure he was called Snowflake because he was black with little flakes of white all over!

Sara Abbott took some photos of me as she is going to do my portrait – hooray!  Finally! Mummy thinks she’s fabulous!

We had such a busy and happy time at Crufts. We learnt a few things, we met a lot of friends, I saw a lot of feet and got bumped on the head by shopping bags.  There were a LOT of dogs – all shapes and sizes. I knew I could not bark at every single one of them as I would be tired before long. But when I was at Honey’s Real Dog Food’s stand – I had to do my guarding and barked at those big black ones that I do not usually like.  And then was told to be quiet.

At the end of the day I am knackered but grateful for the experience. I think Mummy learnt a few things too.

We finally left at about 1:30pm to take the train home. Both of us fell fast asleep on the train.

May’s comment: After months of waiting, Crufts has come to an end.  We’re home watching the Best in Show on telly – Darcy snoring already.

The best of the show for us wasn’t the best in show winner but the award given to the friends for Life when the presenter said – this reminds us why dogs are such an important part of our lives.

Crufts was fun. So much to see, to learn, to do.

Have to think of what I want to do with Darcy’s education – Good Citizen is probably one.  And after that to consider making her a PAT dog. I want to look at the Pet Aid courses as well.
