January always arrives with that peculiar weight, the quiet after the fireworks, the long stretch of grey days, the sense that everything has been wiped clean and you’re somehow expected to start again from zero. It can feel like a drag.
We began the year in St Andrews, and it felt like a gentle way to ease ourselves into 2026. The winter days opened with beautiful sunrises and closed with sunsets, and just be for a moment. It didn’t feel like starting over so much as starting softly.

So we try to soften it. We look for light.
Back in London, there were small joys to hold on to. George finally visited the George Mayfair Club — somewhere I’d been wanting to take him for the longest time. We have made friends there, and it might just be our hangout place this year.

We were excited to visit Nicolas Rouzaud’s new Le Café — a place that feels perfectly suited to January. Calm, thoughtful, quietly indulgent. A good matcha, a beautiful pastry, gorgeous interiors. Sometimes that’s enough to carry you through a grey month.

And we made blue January a fun month when we were asked to help launch Adios poo bags in the colours of the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

And just when we need it the most, Harry Styles is back!

How excited are we, Directioners, with Louis Tomlinson’s new album reaching Nr 1 and Harry’s new single also at Nr 1 in the same week!
But January, for me, is also a month that remembers what we’ve lost.
It’s been four years since Darcy’s passing. And somehow January always knows. The stillness leaves space for memories to surface, for absence to feel louder than it does in busier months.

January may always ache a little. And maybe that’s okay. We fill it with walks, trips, cafés, plans for the year ahead.
Looking forward to more light-filled days and as blossoms start to bloom.
