The last day of 2015

IMG_9686

We headed off to Burton Bradstock as the sun came out this morning on the last day of the year. IMG_9561The tide was high and the waves were strong. Think Mummy was a little nervous to let me off and she kept George on the lead. You never know with that little dinky George what he might do – though he’s not into water. But just in case a wave caught him – that is just Mummy’s imagination.IMG_9595But look at those waves!!! It’s serious!

She did let me off IMG_9585and I ran –IMG_9568 And ranIMG_9570There were lots of other dogs to run with even though Georgie couldn’tIMG_9577IMG_9579And I found a boy with a ball and thought it was time for some ball chasing! But alas it was not for me.IMG_9605After we were well blown, we took shelter at the “extremely dog friendly” Hive Beach CafeIMG_9614 And look – they have a pudding named after George!!!IMG_9613After the beach run, we went back to our hotel to wash the sea salt off ourselves before going to the Summer Lodge for a very civilised lunch. IMG_9647The Summer Lodge is across the street from the Acorn Inn and also dog-friendly – obviouslyIMG_9682We were sat in the dog-friendly room – which is covered with dog portraits and dog paintings.IMG_9659I have of late learnt to sit on the banquette, whenever there is one. I sit very STILL and would wait patiently till Mummy gives me something – after she’s done.

But I do get very curious when they serve the food – just curious as to what might come my way.IMG_9661Soup? No hand me downs there.

Coq du vin – there’s potential!IMG_9675We stayed there for a long while to take in the ambiance IMG_9651And spending time togetherIMG_9666Really – to wait for the rain to stop.

While we were there, we met some Londoners who spends time in Dorset and realise they live close to us in Chelsea. They have dogs too and have shared with us two new places to go to in the neighbourhood! Thank you Valentine and Egg! (Is that really your name?)

May’s comment: Feeling blessed as we looked back on the year that was.

For one, we have seen George grown not just physically but also how he has integrated into our lives. He brings much joy to all he meets. And he taught me how I am capable of loving more than I ever imagined I could.IMG_9669And despite some unexpected surprises, I was in the end better off for it. Shedding the pounds I never could have done on my own for one! 🙂 But also through the tribulations, I realised how blessed I am – with friends, neighbours and acquaintances that came to my help when I was down and out. Importantly, I am healthy – except for a bloody cold that erupted last night!

But as we turn the calendar, a friend shared this with me:
