It’s only been 10 days into 2016, but we had heard that the 10th day into the year is a good checkpoint to see how far our new year resolutions are working.
My new year’s resolutions are:
- to continue to be as excited as I have ever been about each walk
or run in the park
- to continue to believe that one day I will catch a squirrel

- to continue to be excited to see Mummy each time she returns

- to curb my barking/fear when I see big black dogs

- and to learn a few more tricks – to make Mummy proud and happy

Now George is piping in.
And mine are:
- to be brave and not be scared when riding in the car

- to not show aggression with other dogs because Mummy told me it’s rude and not very sociable

- To not be jealous every time Mummy gives Darcy a cuddle or even just a stroke
May’s comment: I didn’t have any “resolutions” on New Year’s but it became clear to me as we transitioned into 2016 that I needed to DE-CLUTTER in all aspects!
- Let go of anything that felt stuck, that held me back
- Do not engage with anything that has been short of positive
- Leave behind those who zaps energy out of you
- Do not eat things that will harm your body
Don’t stress over, waste energy on things, people, projects that have not clicked in the past. Throw out things that block the mind.
And now for the harder things that I have the dogs to keep reminding me of –
- to live each day as if it’s the first and last – stop procrastinating!
- to live in the moment – make the most of each day!
- to forgive, forget and move on – life’s too short to harbour any negativity
A friend shared this on Face book –
“There isn’t time, so brief is life, for bickerings, apologies, heartburnings, callings to account. There is only time for loving, and but an instant, so to speak, for that.” – Mark Twain
Let go of negativity, move forward with love, light and positive outlook. Whatever didn’t jive, let go. Move forward with what works.
They say that 10 days into the new year is a good check on how well the new year resolutions are holding up. Actually, it took me 10 days into the new year before I realised what needed to change. Let’s hope 100 days into the new year, I would have moved on from thinking this and living it.

You are so right May. I didn’t make any resolutions but this is the year to make a decision I’ve been procrastinating over for some time…watch this space!
I turned 70 at the beginning of December and did not make any resolutions either..but like Margaret I’ve been putting *stuff*off for a very long time so 2016 is the “chuck it out year” all those things I’ll get back into …no I won’t!! so a big trip to the charity shops to benefit someone else…and more frequent runs on the beach with Gracie which will do us all good and avoid the mud in the woods. There it’s in print now so it must be done. Tee hee. Xx
Yes, this is the declutter year, although I started it a little at a time this fall. It clears the mind and soul as well as the house! Jill
