So since I arrived home on Monday and before the lockdown on Thursday, Mum packed in a few activities for us.
We were suppose to meet our friend Claude for lunch at Chiltern Fireplace but he wasn’t feeling well enough to join us, so Mum was happy to have me for company – like old times!

And on Wednesday, the day before lockdown, we met Rusty and Martine for a final lunch at Pied à Terre in Fitzrovia. Our friend, Sydney told us about this dog-friendly Michelin star restaurant! It was a last minute booking but we managed to get the chef’s table.

Actually that’s where they prefer that we pooches sit.

Is there enough to share with me?

So with that, we are all tucked up. And we are settling down for a month-long lockdown where Mum had to either eat her own cooking or have food delivered! That’s why she was eager to have a few well-prepared morsels of food.
May’s comment: I’ve forgotten how much I enjoy going to dog-friendly places with my dogs. It wouldn’t be quite the same if I had just gone on my own. But we always have a mission – to continue to seek out and support places that are dog-friendly.
Once upon a time we were allowed inside the restaurant at Chiltern Firehouse but the rules had changed a couple of years ago and we are only allowed to sit in the “covered” courtyard. But as the weather has turned colder, we opted to sit in the bar and hotel lounge area. They serve the same menu.

And we found another Michelin star restaurant that is dog-friendly. Sydney’s mum told us about Pied à Terre and since we were having a staycation nearby in Holborn, we thought to check it out before the lockdown.
Pied à Terre is the longest standing independent Michelin Starred restaurant in London and the UK. It was founded in 1991 and is still owned and run by David Moore. Executive Chef Asimakis Chaniotis’s classic French cuisine, with reference to his Greek heritage, is presented in a fashionably elegant and sophisticated setting. Awards have been many over the years, but we are particularly proud of our latest award of No1 Vegan tasting experience in the UK.

Chiltern Firehouse is already on our Wine & Dine list (sadly, this needs updating post Covid). And we’ve just added Pied-a-Terre at 34 Charlotte St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 2NH to our French listing.
Let us know if you come across any other restaurants that we have not already mentioned.
