Unbelievable!

Say Please

When we started doing Trick Dog Training back in April with Barnaby’s Trick Team, Mum wasn’t sure if George could achieve Novice.

She hadn’t realised that over the years she had taught us a few things that qualified us for that title.

As you know, I went on to get my Intermediate, Advanced and eventually Expert title.

Mum had little confidence in George ever getting any further. Till Julie reminded Mum that he actually just needed three more tricks to get his Intermediate.

Really? Mum thought. Is that possible?

May’s comment: We finally got around to working on getting George’s Intermediate title with the help of Julie James giving me some tips. To be honest, I thought he wouldn’t go any further than what we had already done for Novice, but Julie pointed out that he already has:

1. Rollover

2. Shake paws

3. Sit Pretty

4. Stay out of sight (20 secs)

5, 6. Wave goodbye.

7, 8. Jump into my arms

We needed four more points. So we learnt

9. Paws rest on arm as I walk (on my knees) and

10, 11 – Tap desk bell!!!

12, 13 – Barrel Racing

And so George is now an Intermediate Trick Dog.

Unbelievable! Maybe we will manage to “advance” this lockdown. LOL! We are short of one trick!!!
