Our local “canteen” had another dog evening and our “gang of four” consisting of me, Georgie, Charlie and Fonzie (sometimes Jaffa) were all there – in a tangle with excitement on seeing each other again!
Whenever we greet each other we always seem to do that because the humans are holding onto our leashes.
And Fonzie (Cavapoo) meet Maddie (Cavalier King Charles). Maddie lives in our mansion block.
Maddie loves a tummy rub wherever and whenever.
Here are some of our co-diners – our cockapoo friend.
Little Fonzie was too little to stay late so he had to leave early
Maddie takes her place at the table
As did the others
This is Minnie, a Puggle
Georgie was checking out the next table when got caught!
And then there’s the next table
And we met him at that “next table”
Some were too big so they had to stay under
There were small ones –
And then there were tiny ones.
This is Big, the Chihuahua the smallest dog with the biggest personality on the street where we live, with Charlie who is sporting a new haircut.
I kept my focus on the source of all foods
If I can I would jump up on that counter – and you know I can – I do agility, you know!
I told Charlie about it and we both were trying to figure out how to get around the barriers.
We gave up after awhile as the food eventually left the kitchen and were on the tables.
I would check back at Mummy’s table now and then
Maddie did her part to wander around. Her Mummy said she’s as bad as I am about food.
So just popping back to say – What’s on your table?
The funniest part of the evening – the Quiz Master is terrified of dogs! Yes, you ask, why did he volunteer to do the quiz knowing there will be 28 dogs running around? At the end of the evening, he was about to leave when a little Maltese and Maddie cornered him!!!!!
Maddie thought – seriously? And she left the scene and left it to the little Maltese to deal with this guy!
May’s comment: Another massive turnout at Henry Root’s doggy evening. They hold a dog’s evening four times a year. This is their second one besides our cockapoo Valentine’s evening.
We appreciate restaurants who make such an effort to make include dogs in our social life – and we make sure we support them. Henry Root was the first restaurant we went to four years ago and always been thankful to them that I knew there was a place i could go to with Darcy during the early days when I had separation anxiety.

Darcy, I thought for a moment that Mummy had traded you in for a meercat when I saw the first picture!
