If I ever doubt why Mummy takes me to the groomers, I shall remember this!!!
I had a particularly good time in the park today … in other words, I had mud on my face, my paws are brown and my underbelly and bum are patched with mud! So when I was rinsed, it was all brown!
Especially my under belly!
Then I get wrapped up in my doggy bag and a turban on my head!
After a rub down in my micro fibre doggy bag, I get a quick blow dry.
Mummy cleans my left ear
Then my left ear
A bushing session for my matted legs! Bad Equafleece!
Honestly, Mummy, do you think this is good enough?!?!?!
May’s comment: Disastrous! Why do I pay someone to groom her? This is evidence. Just can’t do it right!

Well, Miss Darcy, I think you look lovely, though you don’t look too happy having your bath and blow dry. BUT, you are much better than me! I HATE having a bath, and put up a huge struggle. I will do anything to escape the fear and indignity, and that includes leaping out covered in soap and plastering myself to Jill’s bosom, thereby ensuring she is wet and soapy too… or I escape the bathroom completely and rush round like a mad thing, shaking and rubbing myself on anything there is around.. carpet, chairs, sofas…. I even managed to leap onto the window sill and wrap myself up in the curtains. (I wasn’t very popular 🙁 )
I manage to escape too many baths, as it is such a performance, that Jill will find long wet grass for me to run through when I am muddy, then a toweling off and hope for the best. It’s probably easier to find long grass in the country than in London though.

Note from Jill: I have never come across a dog with a coat like a cockapoo before. All other dogs have had coats which repel water, and dry quickly, so a quick rub down is all that is required. Poor Charlie – I do feel sorry for him. Unfortunately, as he wasn’t handled properly as a young pup by previous owners, I can’t get a coat with legs on him either. He will wear a “body” coat , which is something, and I am considering making a tummy protector which I can incorporate with his coat.

I am so sorry to hear about your traumas with baths. I don’t like them either but I am fine except when Mummy washes my face then I try to walk the other way. The Doggy Bag is not my favourite but Mummy thinks it absorbs most of my water and ten easier to blow dry. I am rather used to Mummy’s ways – she likes to keeps me clean, I suppose – it’s not a bad thing. I can sit still and have my ears cleaned, and she cleans the goon form my eyes everyday. The hairdryer is fine as long as I am on her lap and getting brushed with my Pet Angel – very soothing.
I can imagine you running around the place – maybe Mummy should lock the bathroom door to begin with 🙂
Anyway, Charlie, I know we’re not meant to have baths like this but then we like sleeping on sofas and beds!

Jill, it seems that all Darcy needs to do is look at mud and it’s on her! But they do dry out – by the time I walk home form the park, she’s more or less dry and looks more decent. But I always rinse her legs/paws and inevitably brown muddy water comes off!
We had a lovely day – but missing quite a few people and poos!
Ha, ha, Yes, I was very surprised to find that there was an escape route via the bathroom door. I have discovered that if I put up a struggle before we get into the bathroom, Jill is distracted enough to forget to shut the door. Don’t think I’ll get away with it in the future though!
