We took the bus to Sloane Street and got off at Pont Street – just before all the shops began. This time, the bus driver asked us to go upstairs of the double-decker. This doesn’t usually happen and today, we obliged.
We were amazed how welcoming everyone was – with the exception of two who asked that I be carried! So instead of listing dog-friendly shops along Sloane Street – we’re going to say – who loved me the most!
First stop – Giuseppe Zanotti. Greeted, stroked and very much welcomed.
At Loro Piana …
I tried on their dog coat. This fitted me very well but at 750 pounds – Mummy thought I can do without!!!
Better put the coat back on that dog!
At Prada …
One of the Sales staff has two cockapoos! And they may join us at our next Hyde Park Meet!
No problem entering Giorgio Armani
Interesting floor space but not much loving here.
At Tod’s – I could go in but not fussed over – think maybe they were afraid I would start chewing shoes. 🙂 But look at me, so chilled. Not even interested in any of the shoes that Mummy was trying on.
At Bottega Veneta, we met yet another Italian who had left their dog back in Italy when they moved to London. We’ve met so many Italians in London who are in the same situation and so we get all the amore whenever we meet one!
Mummy usually asked me to sit on chairs for a photo but this time she decided maybe not – love the back cushion. So Bottega!
Mummy was talking handbags at Gucci – I couldn’t see anything she was looking at as I was floor level.
We walked around at Marni 🙂
We stopped at Joseph’s not just to shop but we also had lunch in their Joe’s Cafe. More later on this.
Anne Fontaine – yup!
Ah, yes, I thought we were going in there as well but Mummy said – we needn’t bother. Another day when I can afford to buy her something from there and we are sure we will be welcomed.
Hogan – surely not another shoe store!
We encountered our first not-so-dog-friendly store. Bon Point asked that I be carried. Why? Because children go into the store.
That was pretty lame reason since the store sells mostly baby clothes and the babies are not walking on the floor.
Mummy told them that she couldn’t focus on shopping if she had to carry me. Oh well. No babies to buy for anyway.
But then at the D&G shop for kids a few doors down, we were allowed to walk in!
At Shanghai Tang –
this staff was more excited to see me than Mummy.
We tried on even more shoes at Salvatore Ferragamo
And yes we were allowed in at Roberto Cavalli, but no overwhelming welcome. By now, we were expecting to be fussed over at every place, so when the sales staff just said – yes, come in, we weren’t feeling very loved. LOL!
We went to so many stores that we’ve forgotten where we were. Was this Alberta Ferretti or Missoni?
Ah, Tom Ford. This gentleman said he looked forward to seeing us again soon even though he kept calling me Daisy.
We liked the floor – I sort of blended in.
We didn’t bother to go into Ermanno Scervino – this was the other place that said I had to be carried. We think they actually didn’t know their store policy. But by then we had so many places to shop, we could skip this one.
And then we hit Moncler.
I was swooped up by Vera.
She hugged and kissed me
She carried me up the stairs to the women’s department.
She told me how much she loved my fringe – actually almost every single person liked my bob! 🙂
I checked out the store while Mummy was browsing
And then we went down the cool stairwell …
I stopped to appreciate the design …
But when I got to the bottom, I got scooped up by Meena!
Meena is from Kuwait and she was “deliciously” interesting.
She didn’t mind one bit that I was trying to steal the biscuit she had on her lap.
Our last stop at Louis Vuitton to check out more travel luggage. No, Mummy! Enough already!
We didn’t bother with the few remaining stores on Sloane Street. The majority of them would be dog friendly …
Besides, by now anyone shopping on Sloane Street will be totally spent – in every sense of that! So we went off for tea.
And no, we cannot go into Harvey Nichols!
So who do we think loved me the most on Sloane Street?
Moncler wins hands down! Or maybe it was a combination of Vera and then Meena. I felt totally welcomed and very much fussed over.
Prada is a close second with Tom Ford a very, very close third.
May’s comment: Welcome to dog-friendly Sloane Street. Another dog-friendly part of London. We walked from where the Jumeirah Carlton Towers hotel is to just before Harvey Nichols. As we got closer towards Brompton Road, the shops closer to the main drag of Knightsbridge, we get the sense that dog-friendliness is more in question. We’ll have to find that out another day.
In our next blog post, we also found at least three dog-friendly places on Sloane Street and nearby where you can dine with them inside and several others where you can sit outside.
