Zdravo Bosnia – over yonder

Time to go home … good bye Belgrade. We have definitely created many moments here with friends.

Dragan came for the last time to pick us up for our drive to Ljubjlana – which would take about 5.5 hours away.  And we needed to be there by 16.00 as I have an appointment at the vet.

We drove through Serbia and as we reached the border of Croatia –

We will miss you too!

And there was a sign for EU citizens to go through one line but because Dragan if not, we had to take his queue.

And it occurred to me if and when Brexit happens, this is what will happen to us too – we will have to be stopped and checked at every border.

It made me feel a little sad when realty hits and we are no longer part of the EU.

As we drove into Croatia, Mum had asked Dragan if it was possible to swing by into Bosnia on the way. “Can we just cross over?” she asked. He didn’t think it would be a good idea in case we get stuck at border controls that would make us miss the “very necessary vet appointment.”

But he had a suggestion. Maybe we could go to the border at the Sava River in Slavonski Brod and wave to them.

And so we did!

Zdravo, Bosnia! We’ll visit the next time!

Well, we at least did four of the seven ex-Yugoslavian states.

Mum’s been to Montenegro, so she has done five out of the seven. She’s planning to take me there another time – and maybe we’ll get to do Bosnia.

Dragan had downright refused to take us to Kosovo – so we also had to wave to them as we passed it on the way to North Macedonia. LOL!

May’s comment: If I had two more days, we could have done Bosnia and Bulgaria! But we didn’t – I guess we’ll have to come back another time. J

I’m still aghast at all the traveling you have done this week! I’m tired just reading about it, but enjoying reading about your adventures!
    Continued safe travels!

Did I miss the post about the party and also how you found Dragan to drive you?
