It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold, when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade.
The words from Charles Dickens just about described this past weekend when we went to the park to take in the spring flowers – before they all disappeared.
We have seen the bright yellow daffodils dotted all over a few weeks ago and knew Spring had arrived.

And along came the camellias in bright passionate red,

pretty pinks and pure whites.

The magnolias are in full bloom …

The wild daisies everywhere – even on top of George’s head.

But what we love most are the cherry blossoms. It’s the end of March and they have begun making sporadic appearances.

And people would stop and admire it’s delicate, fleeting beauty.
When flowers bloom so does hope. And more than ever this Spring promises so much.
May’s comment: “The first blooms of spring always make my heart sing.” – S. Brown
We marvel at how pretty they are and all too soon they are gone, scattering their pink petals on the ground. Just like life – beautiful but fleeting.
With that in mind, I had approached Andrew from Raven Imagery if he would be available for a shoot to capture some of the beauty with Darcy and George.
Ever since Darcy turned ten and the same for me when I turned 60, I remind myself to be grateful for every day that we have together.
We had a fabulous day out with Andrew as we went to various parts of the city, but cherry blossom was on the brief.
And this for me is my keepsake …

Tears welled in my eyes when I first saw this. How dreamy, how precious, how fleeting – captured forever.
The cherry blossom pictures are just some of the thousands that Andrew took of Darcy and George. We’ll find every opportunity to share the rest with you.
