What is there not to like about St. Ives?
Looking at our hotel from Porthminster beach
First, we were totally blessed by the most glorious weather. Even though we arrived to rain storms and grey clouds, the skies soon cleared and I was able to run on the beach (unbeknownst to us, I am not allowed on the beach till October). And after a night of being pampered by Aunty Meg and Melissa we awoke to a glorious sunrise.
Running on the beach first thing in the morning is just fabulous as I loved leaving my pawprints in the virgin sand – making my mark for the day (aside from the way I usually do).
We walked to the town and along the way saw magnificent views. As we walked through the quaint little streets in town – it was full of people just out enjoying a beautiful Saturday. We had a lovely lunch almost on the beach and then had ice cream on the beach – we were told to beware of the hungry seagulls stealing our ice-cream.
We visited a church and was invited in to mass – my first ever. That was an unexpected experience. How kind they were to accept us pooches. We lit candles for people we love and for our dreams.
And we stayed in a most lovely hotel – St. Ives Harbour Hotel & Spa. We loved the room and the view was pretty amazing.
