“Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I’ll miss you. Until we meet again!”
With a wave, we said goodbye to Little Tyke and Mini Tyke.
They flew back to Thailand yesterday – and with that, Summer is quickly coming to an end.
Our world is a lot quieter and a lot calmer. Georgie will miss his tummy rubs that Little Tyke loves giving him.
But it also means no more hitting, tail pulling, bending his legs by Mini Tyke the torturer! But that’s because she’s only three and she doesn’t know how to respect our space. Little Tyke used to think he could ride me but now that he’s six, he respects us a lot more. For me, he can do no wrong.
With all that calm and quietness, there’s a big void to fill in our daily lives and in Mummy’s heart.
But I am sure in no time, we will be back to our routines and to our own adventures. In fact, there’s a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
May’s comment: That’s life. Hello, goodbyes and we hope hello again and again and again.
Those were not my brave words yesterday but Sasha in his “youthful” wisdom, and his very much living in the moment reminded me that it is ok. That we will see each other again.
What scares me most – how time is flying by – such a cliché, I know, but so true. It was only yesterday when there were registrations for Summer Camps, museum visits, trips to plan, friends to meet while waiting for summer weather to come along. Just as the sun came out in August, they are returning to their daily lives – and the next “hello” seems so far away …
