Goodwoof, the ultimate dog’s day out at Goodwood Estate is back in May! And it’s going to be fab – again!
Last week, we were invited to The Kennels at Goodwood for a taste of what is to come …

The day was filled with activities. We first immersed ourselves in a Sound Bath with Siobhan Swider.
Siobhan uses and explores sound in a therapeutic approach with the harp, Tibetan and crystal bowls, voice and gongs.

Sound baths provide a deep sense of relaxation, creating balance throughout mind and body.
As the soothing sounds filled the room, hoomans and pooches relaxed into the moment and a stillness fell upon the room.
Next up – Doggy Tarot card reading with Diane Stanton. Yup! You’ve read correctly.

My first card is the two pentacles indicating a harmonious rhythm in life. The two signifies togetherness, partnership and support. A positive card that shows a solid foundation, a sense of safety. Whereas there may have once been more anxious behaviour or feelings – there is now a sense of belonging.
On my second card, she said there’s a very strong presence of another dog. And she said to Mum, she is still very much close by. This made her shed a tear.
When she read the third card, she asked where I had come from because the message was a card of gratitude. It says that I am grateful for my life was a message from me for Mum. I know she has often wondered if I am happy. And I am, truly am. I know I have landed on my paws.

No wasn’t that amazing?
After a full day of activities and photoshoots, we ended the day with Canine Massage.

Lilo (Holistic Vet Nurse) showed our hoomans how to give us massages. Canine massage is a powerful tool to help improve an animal’s flexibility and mobility, increase circulation, reduce pain, promote healing, and improve overall physical, emotional and mental health.

A massage is a great way to get in tune with your dog, so you know what’s normal for them. And you’ll be able to notice any differences in your dog’s reactions, which might alert you to any issues they may have.
It is a fact that approximately 65% suffer the pain of arthritis sometime in their life. (Mum defo does!)
And did you know that dogs use 18 muscles to move their ears as pricked ears enable improved hearing.
Perfect way to end the day!
After having had a taste of these three featured events, we were treated to Doggy Afternoon Tea at The Kennels. When there are doggy events, there are guaranteed treats!

The Kennels at Goodwood Estate is a private members club. However, non-members can now book Afternoon Tea for themselves and their pooches on select days. The dog afternoon tea is available as an add-on to human’s afternoon tea. Call The Kennels for Doggy Afternoon Tea dates.
May’s comment: Goodwoof will take place in the paddocks around The Kennels on the Duke of Richmond’s Goodwood Estate on the 20 and 21 May.

Dogs have been at the heart of life on the Goodwood Estate for over three hundred years and will forever be part of the family. We’ve created Goodwoof to share our love of all things dog and celebrate our canine companions in spectacular style.
A fun-filled weekend for both dogs and dog-lovers alike with all sorts of canine activities, wellness workshops, vet talks, literary corners and then there’s Barkitecture – a competition of kennels designed by architects. This year’s theme is dogs at the office so all designs are aimed at blending into the workplace.
