It’s been eighteen months since our last Hyde Park Doodle meet in February 2020.
We finally met up again on Sunday! Given it was a Bank Holiday weekend, it was a massive turnout! 40+ doodles of all sizes.

Seeing double!
Zac – an Irish Doodle
Teeny, a poodle and Me!
All colours
All sizes! And Little Tyke too!
And a lot of light ones
And they came from nearby – besides George and I, we had good representation from Elm Park Mansions! Five doodle neighbours – there are actually eight doodles in our mansion block!

Charlie
Missy
Cooper
And all the way from Kent …

DeDe
Dante
We played, we chased balls and each other –
Some of us even danced with happiness!
And of course we had our group photo …
Woohoo!!! Release!
Now that we are back – we have plans – BIG plans for the upcoming meets.
At our next Hyde Park Doodle Meet at the end of September (26th), we will have a trick training session with Julie James – who had been instrumental in getting us doing things we didn’t think we could do during lockdown. More info below in Mum’s comments.
And then the following months will be fun – Dress Up for Halloween in October, Giving Thanks in November and Christmas Jumpers in December – and before you know it, it will be 2022!!!
May’s comment: Who knew back then that when the first lockdown began that the pandemic would last so long and social distancing would keep us apart. But we are now finally back, meeting up again since February 2020. It actually seemed almost normal though we know still have to be careful.
And now that we are back, we are going to make the most of our times together.
Planned for the next meet, Julie James who inspired us to do more with our dogs during the months of lockdown.

Check out Julie’s Facebook Page – Barnaby’s Trick Team to see some of the tricks – from easy, basic all the way to Advanced and even Expert!

We managed to do tricks that I never thought I could do with Darcy and especially George. And while doing so, I learnt a lot about them and about myself.
Here are some fun examples of the tricks that we had learnt. And everyone can do this – with a lot of patience!
Do get in touch if you would be interested in having a session with the very patient Julie at next month’s Hyde Park Doodle Meet on the 26th September. Given that we will need both humans and pooches to be very focused, these 15-20 min training sessions on the side and it will be in groups of four. Julie will demonstrate how it is done and will give you tips to try them out on the day and at home.
There will be limited spaces – probably six to eight groups at the most and it will go beyond the allocated one hour of Hyde Park Doodle Meet. If you are on the interested list, we will provide more information closer to the time.

Dear Darcy and May, How exciting to hear that the Doodle meet ups are back. You all looked like you were having lots of fun being back together. It gives me hope for the future here in NSW Australia, where we are in lockdown.

Look like great fun was had by all-human and canine 🙂
Could you tell me the date of the Christmas meet up please? My son will be back from university then and we would like to attend with our pooch, Lily.
Many thanks.
