Dining at Bosi’s

There’s an undeniable buzz in Chelsea, and it’s all centred around the newest hotspot – Josephine, a Lyonnaise bouchon. Since opening its doors just two weeks ago, it’s been packed every single day.

On the second night of it’s opening, Fiona and I looked in our way home from the movies. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, with cosy décor, characteristics of Bouchon restaurants. The guests seated closely together, fostering a sense of camaraderie and conviviality.

And I asked the inevitable question, “Are you dog-friendly?” To my delight, the response was a resounding “Oui. We are.” The place now looked even better! Seizing the opportunity, we inquired if we could have a table, and the answer was an enthusiastic “Certainly!”

And return we did, though little did we know just how fortunate we were to snag a table, as the subsequent weeks have seen Josephine Bouchon fully booked. True to the bouchon style, the tables were situated close to one another, fostering a convivial atmosphere. We found ourselves seated at the back, nestled near a cozy banquette, with our three dogs in tow.

Missy and George, settled comfortably under the table, while Lulu, opted for a spot on my lap. It wasn’t before they each engaged with the tables next to us. The couple to the left was delighted to be greeted by Missy. The couple seated to the right were charmed by George, sparking conversation and camaraderie.

In a stroke of serendipity, our conversation with the couple to our right led to a remarkable coincidence. They were avid dog lovers with two of their own, and had been contemplating adding a third to their family. Upon learning that Lulu hailed from a rescue in China, the woman said she followed Harbin Slaughterhouse Survivors on Instagram! So she was delighted to have met Lulu and hopefully, prompted her to look into adoption for herself. What a heartwarming testament to the power of connection.

The waiter thoughtfully provided a bowl of water, and one of them even produced dog biscuits from his pocket. It was a small gesture that exemplified the warmth and hospitality that permeated every aspect of our dining experience at Josephine.

And above all else, the food was perfection and the service, despite it being only the second day of opening, was faultless.

Just two of the dishes we’ve had so far – we’ve now been there twice.

There’s also a daily lunch special, and we’re planning to go one Thursday for their Blade de boeuf Bourguignon.

It’s been quite a year for Claude Bosi. From his glamorous rooftop restaurant Brooklands at the Peninsula London to his latest opening in Chelsea, Josephine Bouchon.

And the other favourite place we love going to also in our neighbourhood is Oyster Bar by Claude Bosi. Not to mention his signature restaurant, 2-Michelin star Claude Bosi at Bibendum.

Above and beyond the amazing cuisine at each of these four restaurants, they are also dog-friendly.
