It’s Christmas Eve and we’re donning our festive sweaters.
Mummy bought me this sweater last year which matched my BFF, Little Tyke’s sweater –
And Mini Tyke as well!
This year she got one for George –
So we match!
As we merrily made our way about town, lo and behold we met a human who had a sweater just like ours.
Mummy would love one but alas – it’s Christmas Eve and she thought better than to go shopping at this hour.
May’s comment: Ahhh! The Christmas sweater – usually linked to the word “ugly”.
They are purposefully garish to be “kitsch” – as highlighted by Mark Darcy on Bridget Jones’ Diary.
And yet every year they keep popping up.
I think Christmas sweaters are fun and sometimes purposefully funny. And they somehow always elicit a smile – as we did as we walked down Kings Road. It adds to the festivity, it’s not meant to be taken seriously.
That said, as you can tell, I still stay purposefully less “kitsch” via the fair isle approach.
Next year, I’ll need to get one for myself. 🙂
