After having seen “Saving Mr. Banks”, Mummy decided to watch Mary Poppins again. It’s been a very long time since she last saw it. Before long, the songs Mummy once knew well all came back – and got stuck in her head.
So the last time we were at Kensington Gardens, when she would normally walk past the Long Pond, this time, she stopped to look at the birds – singing “Feed the Birds … Tuppence a bag ..”
Oy vey!
May’s comment: Never really noticed all these birds before. It really was because this one bright green parakeet (I think!) flew out of the bushes and sat on a fence before taking off into the air – fluttering her wings just before my eyes.
Again, Darcy could have been right – I might not have noticed it before the song got stuck in my head. But I stopped to look at it. And my eyes followed where she flew … and saw all these different specie of birds. Name them, I can’t but I can at least appreciate how beautiful they are!
